"Female Porn" explained [news]

Hi, I stumbled upon one of Kicesie's awesome videos, in which she explains female porn to men. Kicesie is a YouTube celebrity from US, Arizona, and runs the popular sex ed video channel. She argues that women do not watch porn, which is mostly produced for men anyway, but love to read romantic novels, which become their porn, if you will ;-)

Maybe the common cliche that men are more visually attracted than women has some truth. What do you think?

Kicesie also raises another interesting question, which she is a little bit pessimistic about: Are men trying to fulfill women's fantasies as much as women try to fulfill theirs?

And last but not least also the vampire vs. prince debate gets mentioned.
Guys, we have to try harder ;-) Girls, thank you so much for filling out our fantasies :)

Michael Jackson's This Is It Wardrobe by Zaldy

Hi, I just happened to watch This Is It on Blu-Ray and was amazed what a great dancer Michael Jackson still was. Don't you wish to be as agile as he was when you are 50?

A year ago, when I saw his short press conference announcing 50 new live concerts after more than a decade of absence from stage, I thought he has gone crazy and hardly believed how he could do this. Performing 50 live concerts in a short period of time is not a little thing. However, after seeing him on stage, I am really sad that he died before his first concert, which probably would have been the greatest concert ever made so far.

The Blu-Ray also contains several documentaries about the concert which I regard better than "the movie" itself. One of them is a documentary about Zaldy, the New York based star designer, who made the brilliant costumes for Michael Jackson's final tour.

I especially love the lightman outfit entirely made of Swarovski crystals and the We Are The World outfit, which combines fashion from different cultures around the world. Zaldy also designed the "technologically most advanced outfit ever made", which uses a special material which can emit light patterns in different colors matching the rhythm of the song.

Too bad we could not see Michael in his brilliant costumes, but at least I can imagine it...

FASHIONSHOW & EXHIBITION

Hi, 17 designers from the fashion college Herbststrasse tried to convince the audience that dressed is better than naked. Ok, this is not too difficult in our culture, but it depends on the context of course.

Katrin Herlbauer was one of the designers who succeeded to convince me :) She managed to do – what I love about fashion – turning the models into a stronger, more sophisticated version of themselves.

As usual male fashion was underrepresented (3 looks out of about 100). Marina Kreuzinger was the one who was brave and brought her XXY collection with three male models I think. One could argue, that some looks (if not all) are perfectly suitable for males as well, but it would be nice to explicitly target men also. Or perhaps the designers prefer men without clothes?

Vienna Awards: [se'lekt] Runway Fashion Show [news]

 Selekt Runway Fashion Show

Hi, while my blogging friends (Cool Outfit, Fanfarella, Model Talk, Style KingdomTschilp, ...) have already covered the Vienna Awards 2010 in depth, I visited the Selekt Runway Fashion Show, which took place prior to the awards show, featuring ten young designers from the fashion school Herbststrasse.

While it is already hard enough to organize a fashion show for one designer, doing so for ten without a proper budget is almost impossible. Considering the circumstances I think the show was quite good and of course it was interesting to watch the models and being inspired by some of the concepts. And it was also an important chance for the designers to present themselves and gain experience.

Another impression I am getting after several months in the Austrian fashion scene is that male fashion is almost non-existent. Granted, male fashion is a different business, but why wholly neglect it?

Gothic Look

Hi, I hesitated to post this photo shooting before, because the original black & white edit I had in mind was even for me too bizarre and dark and it violated my number 2 blogging rule: be optimistic and fair.

Last week I found a new way of editing these pictures to give them a more Gothic like look, which I now enjoy and convinced myself to share this picture here. Thank Jim for this bizarre idea ;-)

LET'S GO INSANE at Clubschiff Wien [news]

Fashion Show LET'S GO INSANE

Hi, there are several anchored party ships on the Danube Canal in Vienna. In one of them, the Clubschiff Johann Strauss, I performed in a fashion show by MJK last Saturday.

LET'S GO INSANE meant for me playing a male bodyguard and agent, escorting the female models on stage. This was MJK's cool idea :) I hope you like my masculine side too.

Another phenomenon I noticed is that the actual performance feels to run much faster than the rehearsal. I guess it must be the excitement ;-)

 The Talent Agency Workshop II

Hi, I have completed Austria's number 1 workshop for models & moderators, which was organized by The Talent Agency for the second time. Every workshop is different and this time I wanted to focus more on my male role, since I know for myself (again) that I am actually a guy ;-) This was my first challenge and believe me it was harder than you think, since many knew me already from the first workshop and other events as an avantgardistic transgender model. Roles are all about expectations.

The workshop included a casting situation, runway training, moderation workshops, a business etiquette lesson, nutrition and fitness counseling, and a photo shooting. My photo shooting idea was inspired by Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands movie. We also had a runway competition in the Lugner City and an after workshop party in Residenz Zögerniz.

The workshop was great, I have learned a lot and met so many inspiring and interesting people.
